1) Sign up or log in to the Aura app on your phone. 2) Mount the sensor on the door or window: one part on the frame, the other on the opening part, so the magnets face each other when closed. 3) In the app tap "Add sensor" and follow the steps: select your home Wi‑Fi (2.4 GHz) and enter the password. 4) Give the sensor a name (e.g. "Front door", "Kids' window") and save. 5) Enable notifications for Aura in your phone settings (Settings → Apps → Aura → Notifications). After that, you'll get an instant notification on your phone whenever something opens or closes.
For reliable alerts, allow notifications for the Aura app, set battery usage to unrestricted or disable battery optimization for Aura, allow background activity and keep mobile data or WiFi enabled. If Android does not confirm that an alert was shown within 60 seconds, Aura can send a backup email to the account email address.
